“Hi I’m Laura Pearman, Personal Branding Consultant”

With degrees in marketing and photography, plus 12 years of experience running my own creative business serving hundreds of clients, you can trust my recommendations and insights when it comes to improving your Personal Branding.

Who Never Really was able to Fit-In

It took me a lot of trying to force myself to fit in before I realised I am best suited to be a Creative Entrepreneur. I feel on a deep soul level that I am here in this lifetime to facilitate needed change in making things more truthful, fun and equal.

As a passionate feminist, I see how unequal the majority of leadership positions are. I’ve experienced this in a number of ways in my own career to date and I’m fully aware this doesn’t make me special or a stand-out case. This is why I have chosen to focus on using my inherent creative insight and practical skills to fuel changing this.

I truly believe that with more females in more powerful leadership positions, the world will begin to balance, making life as we know it more civilised and sustainable for all.

With a non-linear Imperfect Journey

I know from my own career path, how common it is to experience knocks and bruises along the way. It is these setbacks and new directions that makes your personal branding story memorable and relatable. When honed with skill, it can become your success gold dust.

I already respect your Uniqueness

My years of experience have taught me that no two clients are ever the same. That’s what makes my job as a Personal Branding Consultant so interesting! I will take the time to first learn about you and where you have come from. Then we work on your business and your short-term and long-term business goals. This ensures that your personal branding accelerates you towards the professional success you want to achieve. If it’s a yacht and a TED Talk, or if its a remote small holding where you quietly run your empire from – I respect that.

Vintage Vibes

Outside of the professional version of myself, I’m best described as a kitchen-witch gardener who is romantically committed to all things vintage.

I love nothing more than hyperfocusing on a lengthy upcycling DIY project whilst listening to audiobooks or dedicating a whole day off to meticulously preparing a meal infused with care and vintage vinyl sounds for the people I love the most.

Whilst my aspirational goal is always to be the prim and put together ironed-sheets domestic goddess, in truth I’m not ashamed to share with you here I am a fan of PJ-day relaxation surrounded by a multitude of nearly done creative pursuits and beauty regime clutter.

Building your Personal Branding

I truly love connecting with other women who are in a season of their lives where they see there is power in celebrating their imperfections whilst also being driven to affect meaningful change in their world with skilled leadership.

Letting go of the false perception that having a personal brand means you will become a vacuous micro-celebrity is often the first step. The second is honing your life and professional experiences strategically so that you can achieve more, faster.

40+ Jobs!?

For years and years, I felt ashamed about having worked in many jobs. I thought that this would make it seem like I was flighty, non committal and untrustworthy.

I began my entrepreneurial adventure at age 30 (my first venture Avon round ended at age 15). Before this, I had experienced working in 39 different jobs from the age of 13.

Personal Branding Consultant with TONNES of Relatable Experiences

It took a lot of working on myself to see that this is actually where my power lies. I have experienced 39 extremely different working cultures and at least 45+ different line managers as well as working alongside countless colleagues (some wonderful, some bonkers). In all of these positions, I chose to leave because I realised where I was working was not giving me the type of professional satisfaction and belonging I craved. I refused to settle, refused to tolerate choosing to bet on myself.

Fortune Favours the Brave (and the Bold)

As a woman of our time, I think we all have a role to play in affecting positive change in the world. For me, I feel my journey proves my bravery and ability to strike out. At this stage in my career, I am perplexed at how many exceptionally gifted women are stuck in the shadows being interrupted and drowned out by more confident (and less skilled/intelligent) men.

Often clients tell me it’s this infectious bravery to speak up or make a productive change to sell themselves and become more known is what drew them to work with me the most.

Personal Branding Consultant Route

Taking a more unusual pathway into my career as a Personal Branding Consultant was formed with my many jobs but also some committed studying.

I started with a BA Hons degree in Marketing and Public Relations which then progressed to an FDA degree in Commercial Photographic Practice.

I’ve since built upon this academic foundation further with Philip Van Dusen’s INTENSIVE Delivering Branding Strategy as a practice training.

Having travelled the world, investing tens of thousands of pounds into listening and learning from leading experts, up-skilling myself in content creation and using AI as a creative professional.

Since beginning my business I have worked with over 450 different clients who own or manage brands in an enormous range of industries around the world.

Female Leadership Expert

In the last 5 or so years I have appeared as a guest speaker at conferences, facilitated workshops for brand owners and loved every minute of being a guest on other people’s shows. I aim to bring a witty and relatable take on what it means to be a female creative professional of our time.

Female Photography Expert

Over the last 2 years, I began a part-time role as a lecturer in Photography where I fall in love with the fundamentals of all the photographic principles weekly, whilst creatively riffing with young, free and inspired minds. I’m currently studying for a CertEd in Adult Education and expect to graduate from this in 2025.
