The 5 Themes Of You

My method is to always begin with the 5 themes of you. These are themes that you can use to create personal storylines that enhance your overall business message.

The rule is that they have to be 100% honest and true about you. Fake this bit and the cracks in your personal brand show pretty quickly.

The beauty of having 5 different themes is to keep your audience entertained and to keep the part of yourself that you don’t want the world to know about guarded and protected.

6 Steps To Build A Strong Personal Brand When It Feels Uncomfortable

This is where a lot of people feel uncomfortable about being personal. They think that they have to share all of their life all of the time.  Not only is that exhausting to you, but it can also open unplanned cans of PR worms that may damage the strength of your personal brand.

THEME 1: Suki The Cat

If you join me on INSTA, you will see Suki is a regular feature.

She is The WORST employee with tonnes of sass & shade. I cannot get enough of it. I love it!

THEME 2: Cocktails

I love cocktails it’s true. But this represents a LOT more for me as a theme. It’s about finding the colour in life. My endless quest for new fusion is fundamental to how I prefer to be creative. It’s about embracing the joie de vivre of life. More is more.

THEME 3: Living The Vintage Life

I’m an old soul. I’m enchanted with old-school glamour. Whether it be the way I dress, using an old wives’ trick in my household or upcycling something old and unloved into something fabulous that speaks to the charm of days gone by.

I’m always going to go for a vintage approach. Timeless class and respecting the older ways of being the best.

THEME 4: Travel & Adventure

In 2004 and again in 2007, I did the backpacker thing. It changed my life and understanding of the world significantly. Now as a proper grown-up, I’m still seeking the pleasure of wanderlust but with a comfy bed & clean working bathroom.

THEME 5: Proud & Responsible Feminism

It’s incredibly important to me to play my part in educating our younger generations about the innate power females have and how establishing a fairer more balanced way of how we do things is going to be better for all of mankind in the future.

How To Use Them To Build A Strong Personal Brand

Using these 5 themes continually in my business communications means that over time I can get into a lot of detail about them with my followers.

Sharing my thoughts and feelings about each of these 5 themes is a great way to add a more personal angle when I’m doing promotional campaigns in my business. It also opens up a lot of scope to News Jack: Jumping in with my tuppence worth when a world event occurs outside of branding creative and photography.

This is exactly why all of my themes are about my life and not what I do in Personal Branding.

What I Won’t Share

I’m not comfortable with talking to the world about my relationship, I find the majority of political issues and how quickly they can escalate online to be far too risky to use in my personal brand. So, it’s 100% off the table.

I’m not that bothered about sports so don’t wish to align any of my business with the heated topic of competition in this way.

I have my feelings and personal experience with religion. I want that to remain private and completely disconnected from how I choose to make a living.

Batch Creation

When I’m batch-creating content on my main social media platform Instagram, I have these 5 themes fully mapped out.  Every year I update how these themes have changed for me so that I can plan and keep it authentic. Make sure to download your copy of the template and let’s get your brand strength flexing together!

Important Side Note

Don’t forget to leave out your profession from your themes.  They should always come in secondary to these aspects of your personal brand.
