About This Professional Headshots Case Study
When Personal Brand Strategy Meets Space-Age Vision
Back in late 2019, I had the pleasure of working with the incredibly focused and future-savvy Sam Flynn, a social media trainer, speaker, and psychology expert. Sam came to me with a powerful vision: imagery that felt cosmic, not just in theme, but in intention. We started by exploring how my personal branding photography services could help bring her creative headshot examples for digital coaches to life through powerful visuals and future-focused storytelling.
For a Launch
At the time, she was preparing to launch a brand-new membership platform. She was pivoting from corporate social media training to a more flexible, passion-driven business. Her goal was to serve small business owners with a big-picture mission: to help people thrive online.
What didn’t we know then? A global lockdown was weeks away. AI was about to explode. And the conversation around digital wellbeing – now central to Sam’s brand – would soon become a collective cultural priority.
Even so, when you look at the creative direction of her shoot… we saw it coming.

With a full green screen setup and space-themed visual storytelling. This shoot wasn’t just a cute visual gimmick. It was a strategic move to produce successful creative headshot examples for digital coaches.
Sam Needed:
- Scroll-stopping visuals to launch her new brand
- Layered poses for her designer to repurpose
- Flexible composition for social media, course content, and speaking bios
- A shoot that reflected her big energy and big ideas
As a result, the green screen technique allowed us to create imagery that would let her “point to calls to action”, appear inside a custom galaxy, and inject personality into even the most professional of brand assets.
Planning the Shoot Around Her Big Idea
Sam and I first connected on Twitter years ago. Then, when Instagram became a great place to do business, we clicked there fast. She already had a well-developed creative direction, themed around outer space to mirror her new platform’s promise: “to skyrocket your success”.
She told me, “It just fits. The metaphor, the language. I want people to feel like they’re launching into a better future.”
Even her outfit choices had a cosmic vibe. This wasn’t about dressing up in costume; rather, it was about reflecting a bigger mission.
