TL;DR

When sales expert Victoria Fleming realised her brand energy had evolved faster than her visuals, she turned to a custom personality branding photography solution. This project shows how we combined a safe, flexible green-screen shoot as the 2021 lockdown was lifting. We strategically added brand storytelling. This brought more of her signature buzz, while setting her up for a more sophisticated presence in the tech and SaaS world.

About This Personal Branding Photography Case Study

Client: Victoria Fleming, Saas Sales Expert. Sales Training & Consulting.
Category: Custom Photography & Personal Branding Photography.
Project Objectives: To ensure refreshed personal brand imagery fits with Victoria’s brand refresh and niche into tech and SaaS sales.

Return on Investment: The shoot gave Victoria a bank of flexible, on-brand visuals. They powered her website launch, social content, and speaking materials for years. This extended the impact of a single investment well beyond the rebrand itself.

The Challenge – When Your Brand Outgrows Its Own Energy

Even the most confident professionals can outgrow their visuals. In fact, I think something is probably really off if this isn’t happening every few years.
By the time we worked together on this personality branding photography case study, Victoria had already been through a major career evolution. She’d built Buzztastic. Her bold, high-energy sales training consultancy. Over time, with a variety of clientele, she found her focus narrowing toward tech and SaaS companies.

Our Original Shoot Together

The problem? Her pink, bouncy visuals and “generalist” image didn’t quite match the authority or precision she was bringing into her next phase and the tech industry.
Victoria is, and always has been, a force of nature. High energy, experimental, and unstoppable once she’s found her stride. But during this period, she was also methodical, testing many different directions to see what truly resonated.

Niching Down

Her work spanned everything from retail and mortgage advising to fintech and SaaS.
Eventually, she realised her expertise wasn’t just about sales. It was about helping software businesses thrive through strategic selling that could be scaled.
That realisation sparked her brand shift, and this photoshoot marked the visual transformation that came with it.

Storytelling & Your Brand Personality

The Concept – Injecting Personality into a Brand (After Lockdown)

A key factor in this personality branding photography case study is when we shot. At this time, the UK was just emerging from lockdown. Restrictions meant limited locations, reduced teams, and maximum caution. This produced a creative opportunity in contrast to being cooped up.

Silverlink Business Park in North Shields

We shot at Silverlink Business Park in North Shields. Together, we transformed Victoria’s office space into a safe, contained green screen brand photoshoot location. This alternative creative approach to visual branding for sales professionals gave her flexibility, adaptability, and fresh storytelling tools in a period of total uncertainty.
The setup gave Victoria the versatility to blend new imagery with her updated brand identity – including the signature glasses pattern created by her designer.

Operational Shout-Out

Operational logistics were handled smoothly by Michelle Lucherini. She coordinated shoot timings, the internal project of a brand refresh, access, materials and implementation. All the while ensuring every government-mandated safety box was ticked.

Flexibility

The goal? To create a library of flexible, expressive images that Victoria could reuse. Across her new website, LinkedIn, and digital marketing – even while in partial lockdown.

Building on Previous Experience

At this stage, Victoria has already been featured in her earlier Personal Branding Case Study in Newcastle & Whitley Bay. This is a great comparison point if you’d like to see how her brand has evolved between projects.

The Solution – A Custom Personality Branding Photoshoot

By this stage, Victoria was a returning client who understood how to get the most out of a shoot. She knew what worked, what didn’t, and how we could go further.
That’s where custom brand photography really shines. When clients have experienced how brand strategy and imagery combine to elevate their visibility. When things are fully integrated into a marketing and PR plan, the ROI is a lot more significant.

We used:

  • A flat-lit green wall for seamless background removal (no tricky shadows).
  • Softboxes positioned at three angles to create clean, even light.
  • A zoom lens setup to maintain a safe distance without sacrificing detail.

The Result: A Dynamic Shoot.

We had room for experimentation while maintaining full control of lighting and tone.
This personality branding photography case study merges technical precision (born of limitations), with elevated storytelling to articulate Victoria’s branding refresh. Professional branding photography with the right mix of personality baked in.

Communication

We wanted to build on Victoria’s bank of images from her first shoot. This time, we wanted to communicate key messages through poses, props and outfit choices. This time we needed to speak directly to the tech market.

The Right Buzz

From a creative standpoint, this was about balance. On one hand, capturing Victoria’s trademark buzz. On the other hand, refining her visual presence to fit her evolving tech niche.
The images became foundational assets for her website redesign, presentations, and ongoing social media visibility.

A Step-by-Step Guide to Defining Your Brand’s Personality

The Impact – From Buzztastic to Tech Thought Leadership

This wasn’t just a brand refresh. It was a visual declaration of the next stage in Victoria’s professional identity.
Working with Design Box on her new website, she introduced a teal and navy palette that conveyed confidence and innovation. This is a far cry from the pastel shards of colour of her earlier era.
The green-screen portraits were layered with subtle patterns and graphic overlays that tied back to her marketing and promotions planning.

Recognisable & Evolved

Her new images made her recognisable yet evolved. This is a crucial goal for anyone building authority online.
As Victoria put it in our joint LinkedIn Live discussion (broadcast as part of her rebrand launch):

“I didn’t realise how much my brand had drifted until I saw it through fresh images. This shoot gave me a way to stay me – but a more strategic version of me.”

New Leadership Role

Not long after, Victoria took her sales training expertise into an exciting SaaS leadership role. That same energy and clarity served her again – proof that powerful visuals continue working long after the shoot itself.
The resulting images reflected not just her updated visuals but her deeper brand personality development: Confident, tech-savvy, and instantly recognisable.

Key Takeaways on Personality Branding Photography

1:Your Visuals should evolve as fast as your Business

If your photos still reflect an older version of your brand, you’re missing opportunities for connection and authority.

2: Custom photography pays off

Once you understand your personal brand DNA. Returning clients like Victoria often know precisely what to fine-tune, making the creative process sharper and more rewarding.

3: Personality branding goes beyond aesthetics

It’s about crafting visuals that express who you’ve become – not just what you sell.

Versatility is Power

Especially during unpredictable times (like lockdown), a single shoot can fuel months of content when designed strategically.

This personality branding photography case study proves how brand personality photography can evolve alongside your strategy. Together, this supports a lasting visibility and a sustainable amount of trust. You might be wondering if all of your branding ducks are in a row. This is essential prior to booking any new shoot service. If that’s you, this guide will help you.
